NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST
Born July 13, 1821; died October 29, 1877.
A native Tennesseean, he is buried in Forrest Park,
Union Ave, Memphis, Tenn. He was one of the
greatest cavalry leaders produced in the Civil War,
With little formal education and no previous mili
tary experience he enlisted as a private and
attained rank of Lt. General. He was a true mili-
tary genius!
