This is the S. S. Tillie Lykes, one of three SEABEE Class intermodal transports in the fleet of Lykes Bros. Steamship Co., Inc. They are 875 feet long, can haul 24,000 long tons of cargo, and have a 2,000-ton submersible stern elevator which gives them the heaviest lift capacity of any ship in the world.
