Inn operating continuously since 1704. Focal point dur-
ing Revolution because of its location midway between
Philadelphia and Valley Forge. Visited by Washington,
Franklin, Lafayette and Wayne. Occupied by British for
three months during Revolution. Renamed in 1795 for
neighbor, "Mad" Anthony Wayne. The walls hold
memories of events witnessed over 270 years – were 28
we years old when George Washington was born.
