DIXON ARCH DIXON, ILLINOIS
Dixon Memorial Arch built in 1919 to honor returning
World War I veterans. First known as a “Victory" arch,
it was one of hundreds built throughout the United
States. It was made into a permanent structure which
lasted until 1949. The arch was widened and rededi-
cated in 1966. It is the only one remaining in the United
States from the many built in 1919.
