Additional Details:
This souvenir postcard of this rigid airship comes to you from the 55th Anniversary Exhibition of the Rubber City Stamp Club, Akron, OH. The German airship, Deutschland was the first passenger ship of the German Airship Transport Co., a subsidiary of the Zeppelin Airship Co. The first passenger flight was June 10, 1910. The Deutschland made several successful flights between Frankfurt, Baden-Baden and Dusseldorf, before crashing in the Teutoburger Forest June 28, 1910. Furnished with a luxurious central cabin and restaurant, the LZ7 was the forerunner of the great passenger zeppelins. The Deutschland was powered by three 120 hp engines, giving her a speed of 37.5 mph
