The year 1959 marks the 26th Anniversary of Ma's and Pa's
Place, U.S. 91 (Salt Lake-Ogden Highway) Roy, Utah. Under
the same management - Verdi L. Pingree and Wife.
Starting with a kitchen 12 x 14 and serving under an old time
bowery with a seating capacity of thirty, Dorotha, Maxine,
Lucile, Joyce, Wallace, Carl, and James (Ma's and Pa's
family) all shared with the work.
We now have four spacious dining rooms, seating from 75 to
300 people and a coffee shop, seating_60. The dining rooms
upstairs are the beautiful Hawaiian Room with murals of
Hawaii, and the Parisian Room with murals of Paris.
The Anniversary Room with king-size reproduction of
Gainsborough's BLUE BOY and PINKY, by Sir Thomas
Lawrence, painted by our son Carl L. Pingree, and our
beautiful large dining room with his oil paintings, which are
for sale, and the large Flagstone Fireplace, stones (gathered
from eight different quarries) which are 1/2-inch square to 6
inches by three feet long, showing all colors found in the
Grand Canyon.
Now Wallace, Carl and James are the Chefs and pride
themselves on the cleanliness and homey atmosphere of the
place. Ma playing Solo Vox and piano for dinner music and
jovial Pa overlooking all, makes this place a memory that will
stay with you.
