Washington spars with interlocking
yarders at work for Weyerhaeuser
One of the two Washington 110' telescoping steel spars with
integral Model 208 Washington yarders of interlocking design
is shown yarding in the White River area near Enumclaw, for
the Cascade Division of the Weyerhaeuser Company. The
veteran Model TL-15 Washington Trakloader used to transfer
logs from landing to trucks has been in service for Weyer-
haeuser since 1951. A second and similar Washington spar has
been placed in service at Coos Bay, Oregon, by the Weyer-
haeuser Company.
The new self-propelled Washington steel spars travel at
25 m.p.h., can negotiate grades of 25%, employ approved safety
devices to insure safe, efficient operation and fast hydraulic
raising and lowering of the spar.
