Additional Details:
Central Station at 12th Street, and Michigan Boulevard - a Chicago landmark since 1898. Ground was first broken on June 4 1892 and the building opened to public April 17, 1893. It now serves three major roads: the Illinois Central, Michigan Central and Big 4 Route all completely electrified within the city's limits, and each an important thread in a vast, orderly network of rail lines that makes Chicago the transportation center of the world. In the background on the lake front are the Field Museum and Soldiers Field, newer monuments to Chicago's greatness and advancement.
