Through the generosity of R. Pearsall Smith, the
Working Men's Institute of Millville was erected
in 1882. Headquarters for recreation and enter-
tainment of the laboring people of the community,
it was later known as the Millville Social and
Athletic Association. The City purchased this unique
building in 1927 and rearranged the interior to
serve as Millville's City Hall.
