Overall view of the Mainside of NTC shows the Service School
Command area with its complex of classroom buildings and
student barracks. The large dark building at center houses the
Gunnery School and the brown building at far left contains the
Electronics Schools. The Service School Command is the
Navy's largest technical training activity and averages some
7500 students in eight major schools. USNTC is located on
Lake Michigan, 35 miles north of downtown Chicago and four
miles from Waukegan.
