Gordon, restauranteur and fan, purchased the ball
for $5,000 from Sal Durante, young Brooklyn spectator
who caught it at Yankee Stadium October 1, 1961.
Gordon brought Maris and Durante and his bride,
Rosemary, to Sacramento in November for this mem-
orable occasion.
