With a length of 678 feet and width (beam) of 70 feet, it is one of the largest ships that can be operated on the Great Lakes. Its capacity is 21,700 tons and it will make a speed of 16 1/2 miles per hour loaded, 17 1/2 light, enabling it to make forty-four round trips per season carrying iron ore from the head of Lake Superior to the miles at Indiana Harbor, Indiana. |
