Druid Hill Park covers about 700 acres. It was
acquired in 1860, and it received its name from the groves
of magnificent oaks that even yet compel admiration.
There are four entrances, two of which are adorned with
handsome gateways. Some of the attractive features are
a boating and skating lake, a fish pond, many natural
springs, playgrounds, herds of deer and sheep, and a
conservatory. The Maryland Building from the Phila-
delphia Centennial is in this park.
