THE POPE-LEIGHEY HOUSE
At Woodlawn Plantation, Mt. Vernon, Va.
This 1940 Usonian cypress house was rescued by
preservationists and moved from Falls Church, Va.,
to the plantation in 1964. It is the only structure
designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the great 20th-
Century architect, in the Washington area open to
the public. A property of the National Trust for
Historic Preservation.
