SECOND OLDEST BUILDING IN TAOS, NEW MEXICO
Built over 175 years ago it belonged to the daughter of
the first governor of New Mexico. Years ago Teresina
Bent Scheurich, sister-in-law of Kit Carson, fortified
the existing walls against the Indians. Her husband, a
freighter, drove oxen to St. Louis for provisions. The
inside dining room is the original family meat ard
storage room.
