OPERATION DESERT STRIKE
This immense military training project was sta-
ged in the desert areas of California, Nevada,
and Arizona. The exercise area covered some
13 million acres and involved about 90 thou-
sand Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine person-
nel. One of the largest camps was this one
near Needles, California.
