cut native stone. Stonecutters paid $3.50 per day,
laborers $1.75-$2.25. The building completed
October 8, 1873, at a total cost of $42,599.98.
Housewarming held Friday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to
midnight. A ball in courtroom at $1.00 per couple.
It is Renaissance style architecture of the period
of Louis XIII. Has basement, two stories, with
mansard roof and cupola. Stands 113 feet from
ground to top of flagpole. It is the oldest court-
house still in use in
