BRIDGEPORT, CALIFORNIA
This historic Court House was built in 1880. The
original Mono County Court House was built in
Aurora, it was later
discovered by survey,
Aurora was in Nevada Territory. In 1864 the
records were moved to Bridgeport and held in
another building until the present
Court
House was built.
Three trips by buckboard and horses were re-
quired to transfer the records. The cannon in
the foreground was manufactured in Bodie in
1881 to guard the Standard Mine It has never
been fired.
