DCH-105 McMullen County was organized in 1877 and
was carved out of Live Oak County which was carved out
of San Patricio County, which was carved out of Nueces
County, which was carved out of Bexar County, then the
largest of the six original counties of Texas. It is be-
lieved it was named after an early Texas immigrant John
McMullen.
