★SOMERVELL COUNTY COURT HOUSE
Built in 1893, Glen Rose, Texas
"HOME OF THE DINOSAURS"
This historic structure, built for only $13,500, is
typical of frontier days in Texas. An old log cabin was
the first court house, also used as the first public
school. The bandstand and drinking fountain are built
of native petrified rock.
Embedded in a slab of rock in the bandstand is the
footprint of one of the great 30-foot-long dinosaurs
which roamed the Paluxy River Country 70,000,000 years
ago.
