This view of the Sutton County courthouse which
was built in 1891 of native stone. This modern city
of more than 3,000 people is now one of the lead-
ing wool, mohair, and registered livestock centers
in the nation. Sonora and Sutton County economy
are based on livestock, oil, ranching, production of
gas, and "Caverns of Sonora". Excellent tourist
accommodations, municipal pool, with U. S. High-
ways 277 and 290 make travel easy along with
charter service at the new airport.
