JACKSON COUNTY COURT HOUSE
JACKSON, OHIO
Now completely modern and fireproof, was recon-
structed around the walls left standing following
a fire of Jan. 25, 1951. Reconstruction cost 10
times as much as the original $30,000 contract
for the building after an earlier Courthouse had
burned Sept. 20, 1860. Cornerstone laid May 30,
1867, and building later extended to the front
and portico with sandstone pillars added.
