Manning, S. C. was named for Richard I. Man-
ning, second of six South Carolina governors, all
related, five
five of whom came from Clarendon
County. The county was named for Edward, Earl
of Clarendon, one of the Lords Proprietors.
Courthouse lawn presents a beautiful floral dis-
play in the spring.
