COURT HOUSE of Storey County, Nevada. Virginia City is
the county seat of Storey County, Nevada. The present
building was built in 1876 on the site of the former build-
ing which was destroyed by fire on October 26, 1875.
In Virginia City the eyes of justice is not blind. Symbolic
of this statue of justice above the court house door is the
only one in the United States that is not blind folded.
Next door to the court house may be seen the Piper Opera
House, Knights of Pythias and Miner's Union Hall. M.P.
