This is the scene of many famous trials. Orig-
inally built during 1854-55 (of red brick, as were
most of the larger buildings of that era) it is
still in excellent condition. In the days of
'49 Marysville became an important town, as
it was at the head of river traffic to the mines
and on the trail running north and south through
the Sacramento Valley.
