The University's oldest building, Denny Hall, pre-
sides over the campus from a gentle hill north of
the Liberal Arts Quadrangle. The French Chateau-
style structure was built in 1895 when the Uni-
versity moved from the site, now in the heart of
downtown Seattle, where it was originally founded
in 1861.
