| Completed in 1901, it is the third highest shaft in America. Many huge status surround its base and overlook its fountain pools. A museum occupies its basement. An observation platform, reached by an elevator, is near its 284 foot peak. Located in Monument Circle, in the heart of the downtown area, it was built and is maintained by the State of Indiana. |
