JOHN WESLEY HARDIN
Born: May, 1853 Killed: August, 1895
John Hardin, of Bonham, Texas, was a gambler, gunman and
outlaw while still a youth. He ran wild on the frontier until
he was captured by a Texas Ranger in Florida. He was
sentenced to 25 years at hard labor in 1877, but won a pardon
after 17 years. He had studied Law in prison, and he became
a lawyer. He was killed in El Paso a year later, after a life
of crime and violence and 17 years in jail.
