The German Airship, Deutschland (LZ 7) was the first passenger ship of the German Airship Transport Co., a subsidiary of the Zeppelin Airship Co. The first passenger flight was June 10, 1910. The Deutschland made several successful flights between Frankfurt, Baden Baden and Dusseldorf, before crashing in the Teutoburger forest June 28, 1910. Furnished with a luxurious central cabin and restaurant. The LZ 7 was the forerunner of the great passenger zeppelins. The Deutschland was powered by three 120 HP engines, giving her a speed of 37.5 MPH. Other dimensions were Length - 485 Feet. Diameter - 46 Feet. Gas Capacity - 680,000 Cubic Feet.
