THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE, STOCK-
HOLM, SWEDEN-Stockholm is the capital
of the Kingdom of Sweden, on several
islands and the adjacent mainland, between
a bay on the Baltic and Lake Malar. The
nucleus of Stockholm is an island in mid-
channel called "The Town"%; on it stands
the Royal Palace, St. Nichols Church in
which the kings are crowned, and other
prominent buildings. To the north of the
island lies the handsome district of Noro-
malm. The principal buildings on the islet
are the National Museum, the Royal Opera
House, Royal Library, and other numerous
public institutions.
