This "Living Memorial" to the Texas A. & M. men who gave their lives for their country during World Wars I & II, was opened in 1950. It serves the college community as a social and cultural center, providing the means to a balanced education. Low and rambling, built of shell stone and brick, it is over a block long across the front and includes food services, guest rooms, bowling alleys, a table tennis room, gift shop, barber shop, U. S. Post office, exhibit rooms, dance floors, browsing library, record-playing room, game room, meeting rooms, art room, dark rooms, crafts shop, lounges, and offices of the Former Students Association. |
