DEATH VALLEY SCOTTY
Death Valley National Monument
This most fabulous character in the whole annals of the Great
Southwest was born in Kentucky in 1872 and died in his multi-
million dollar castle in 1954. It was in 1905 that he startled
the world by scattering gold nuggets and $100 bills from Los
Angeles to New York and for 50 years he continued to make
the headlines across the Nation. He was often described as the
richest and most successful single handed miner the world has
ever known.
