This settlement, founded in 1881, built by cowboys, modernized by oil-"Titan Of The Southwest" sits on range land that rolls North and South to far distinct horizons. To the South west is the third largest meteoric depression in the United States. To the West Dead Man's Cut, so named because of deaths caused by a delayed dynamite explosion during construction of the railroad in the 1880's. Graves of the victims can be seen on the hillside. |
