| Near junction of the historic Rio Grande and Pecos River. Judge Bean in early days was the only law "West of the Pecos." The "Opera House" in background was built by Bean especially for Lily Langtry (The Jersey Lily). The old Judge died before she arrived, but at a later date Lily Langtry did stop to pay respects to the Old Judge and he "Opera House." In foreground note, mesquite tree, ocotillo cactus and sage brush. Thousands visit this historical spot yearly. |
