An ola-
time romance of Casco Bay and its people, written by Harriet
Beecher Stowe, the author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin." The
scene is laid about this typical old 'long-shore farmhouse,
which is situated upon Orr's Island, fifteen miles from the
city, reached daily by the steamers of the Harpswell Line.
Harpswell is the scene of some of the best literature of New
England 154.
