will be completely double-decked by the opening of the base-
ball season of 1928.
Originally opened in 1974 and christened Cubs Park in 1916.
it was rebuilt in 1922 and 1923. The completion of double
decking will give a seating capacity of about 45,000 in the
finest baseball park in the world.
The Chicago club is one of the charter members of the Na-
tional Base Ball League started in 1876. Chicago and Boston
are the only present members of the original league who have
maintained continuous franchises since that date.
