The handwritten message on the back reads: Dear Helen, Am returning from Hawaii and at present we are on the high sea. I couldn't help but think of you while I was there as the Islands are very romantic. I was unsuccessful in wooing any of the natives but they are very alluring. Just about now I imagine back in Wis. you would appreciate some of this sunshine and warm weather. The ocean is beautiful but a little on the large side, Maybe I'll be seeing you soon. Love, Carroll
