Duck Lake, with its rugged, desolate shore-
line is one of the most imposing of the High

Shadow Lake and Shadow Creek which
feeds it are in one of the most beautiful
regions of the Sierra, for vista of mountain
crags above and quiet reaches of lake and
meadow.

T. J. Lake is the gem of the Mammoth group,
situated right up under Crystal Crag, with
the snows of the Crest cascading down into
the lake. It lies one half mile above Lake
George and is easily reached by foot trail.

and rugged regions in the Sierra Nevada, the
minarets are a dominant feature of the land-

Lake Mary and Mammoth Crest are one of
the chief charms of the Mammoth Lakes. Lake
Mary is much the largest of the Mammoth
Lakes.

The entire Mammoth group of Lakes can be
seen from the summit of the Crest back of
Crystal Crag. They are from left to right:
Crystal, Horseshoe, George, Mamie, Twin
Lakes, Lake Mary, Barrett Lake, and T. J. Lake.
In the extreme distance Mono Lake can be
seen on a clear day.
