Peaceful Flatts Inlet in Smith's Parish once was
a busy PIRATE PORT. In 1691 a Flatts syndicate
placed the 8-gun sloop Amity under the notorious
Capt. Tew. Tew captured an Arabian ship with gold
worth £135,000 and kept most of it for himself.
