Mural: "History of Pharmacy"
The mural, dedicated March 1961, consists of 3
sections painted on masonite panels with water-
base paint, each 8 feet high and 16 feet long.
The planning, research and design by Paul
Coates, M.F.A., Claremont, and the execution by
Coates and Diane Divelbess, M.F.A. occupied two
years' time. Names listed are important figures
in the development of pharmacy. The connecting
hexagons, pentagons and circles which provide
the pattern for the mural are derived from the
structural formulae of organic chemistry.
murals are on permanent display at "Hendricks
Pharmacy".
