ENTRANCE TO BALBOA BAY. One of California's finest
yacht harbors, this spacious land-locked bay and its
lovely island areas, constitutes one of the most attrac-
tive recreational localities in Southern California. Resi-
dential structures of stucco, in the California-Riviera
type, predominate at Balboa, Balboa Island, Lido Island
and Corona Del Mar, where they look out on hundreds
of yachts and pleasure craft at their moorings. The
pleasure craft fleet here is one of the largest on the
Pacific Coast. The harbor's Yacht Regatta and the
Flight of the Snowbirds are outstanding events.-R.D.
