The back of the card has a handwritten message that reads, "Dear Dess. How are you. I won't write you a letter because I haven't time. I am going to Los Angeles pretty soon. My mother told me to tell you thanks for helping her pack with suit cases. She said that if you weren't there she would have to of taken the trunks. Will write you a letter as soon as I get in Los Angeles. Yours truly."
