Additional Details:
A view of the Key Route Inn in Oakland, California. The large, multi-story inn features decorative half-timbering and a central tower with a cupola. An American flag flies from the tower. A covered walkway leads to the entrance. Several people and a horse-drawn carriage are visible in front of the inn. To the left is a small kiosk or stand.

The handwritten message on the back reads, "This is the hotel we are stopping at in Oakland. We took the electric car to the Ferry. It took fifteen minutes and for home it took twenty five. We are having a lovely time but it is very expensive. I wish you were here to enjoy it with us. Will write later. Lovingly, Minnie."
