A steamship is docked at the Alakae Wharf in Honolulu Harbor. Horse-drawn carriages and pedestrians are on the street in front of the wharf. The wharf was erected in 1910 by the Hon. Marston Campbell, Superintendent of Public Works of Hawaii. It is one of the finest docks in the world. It is capable of berthing two or more of the largest vessels of trans-Pacific trade at one time. It is double decked having an upper floor for passenger traffic. It contains all the most modern appliances and conveniences.
