This house was the first frame house
erected in Hawaii, and is situated on King
Street near the Palace. It was first occupied
by Father Cooke who taught within its pre-
cincts the great chiefs and kings of Hawaii,
and it is still in a fine state of preservation
and has many interesting relics within its
doors. The entire house was brought around
Cape Horn in a sailing vessel with the early
missionaries about 1830.
