The most prominent of all fraternal organizations on
the Islands of Hawaii, is that of the Masonic order.
Since 1850, when the first Lodge was established by early
mariners, much of the benevolent and philanthropic
work of the Island was done by their members. The
temple occupies one of the most public corners in the
center of Honolulu.
