CHESAPEAKE BAY BRIDGE
This is one of the longest bridges in the world and the
first ever to span the Chesapeake Bay. This spectacular
structure links Maryland's Eastern Shore with the main-
land, and speeds motorists between the South and North-
east. Length of the suspension span is 2,922 feet and it
has a clearance of 186 feet above the water, permitting
passage of the largest ocean-going vessels.
