One of the most interesting historical buildings
in Philadelphia, dating back to before 1760.
Used as a hospital during the Revolutionary
War, many of the wounded from the Battle of
Germantown were cared for here. It was burned
by the British but was soon rebuilt, and was a
haven for many during the yellow fever epidemic.
For many years an inn, it was a favorite
stopping-off point for weary travelers coming
from Reading and Bethlehem. Restored to its
colonial splendor in 1952, it is now one of the
largest and most modern flower shops in the
east.
We are pleased to open
your account and hope
you will enjoy using
it in the near future.
