Betsy Ross House, Birthplace of Old Glory, Philadelphia, Pa. The Betsy Ross House, on Arch Street, east of Third Street, is an interesting survival of Revolutionary days. It was here that Betsy Ross designed and made the first American flag, consisting of 13 stars and 13 stripes - the original old Glory, which was approved and accepted as the standard of the country by Washington and his committee.
