The female of this beautiful species is plain, dull
peacock-blue. The nest is placed in low trees and
carelessly built of twigs. The two glossy eggs are
thickly speckled with reddish-brown over a whit-
ish ground. There are other varieties in India,
Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. They feed
on fruit and insects.
